((A note to the show sponsor, I had troubles finding lion statues just sitting for the signs, so I thought the lion doorknobs would be a semi-adequate replacement at least. I actually ended up loving that idea and might have to steal the lion doorknobs for my arena XD ))

Will and Stella had managed to sneak their way through the endurance course, and he was more than happy to make their way back to England to finish the show with the driving course. The cool country air greeted them happily, refreshing Stella's energy, but not her confidence. Lana had greeted Will from the airport gates, none-the-wiser until Clara hugged him and he flinched. Only after stern rebuttal for having finished the race did Lana and Clara let him get a word in edgewise, both finally having to relent and agree that in that moment, they probably would have done the same and tried to finish.

As Lana got Stella ready for the driving show, she could already tell what damage had been done to the mare, although not physically, at least mentally. The poor horse had terrible self esteem now, holding her head as if it were made of lead and not picking up her hooves so lively as before. This concerned Lana, not just because of the depression Stella was in, but also because they were being judged on dressage driving and her attitude could mean the difference between a rosette and a disqualification. The AQS did their best to cheer her up, treats and attention abound, but the mare would have none of it.

And as their turn came, although Stella could do the maneuvers, they were choppy and sad, heavy footed and sullen. No spirit, no attitude, no life. Her head still hung low and all Lana could do was try her best to make it appear as if everything was fine and that there was no problem. But she knew the judges could see her depressed mare as clear as the leaves were bright...
